British Invasion

I've posted so much about this quilt in progress I'm not sure there's much left to say now that it's finished.

The Old North Bridge in Concord, MA is the site of the first American victory in the  Revolutionary War, the perfect place for a photo shoot!  I started working on this quilt last August and joined up with the Baby Brit QAL hosted by the fabulous dream quilt create.  Thank you so much to Cynthia for helping me stay on track!!!

The Grave of British Soldiers commemorates the 3 British soldiers who died at the bridge.  Almost all of the fabrics in this quilt were pulled from my stash with a just a few final additions from the awesomely amazing  Sew Deerly Loved and the simply perfect bias striped binding from gather here.

British Invasion
I actually finished piecing the top back in October but then got stalled piecing the back and basting, my least favorite parts of the process.  Neither task was the chore I had imagined, hopefully a lesson I'll remember.

Once everything was together the quilting went pretty quickly, helped along by several well-timed snow storms.

A huge thank you to my fabulous husband for patiently playing the role of quilt rack on a cold, windy morning and managing to keep my quilt out of the mud (and the river)!
