Spring Refresh

Now that the days are getting longer I've been feeling a little more motivated to sew after work.  With Spring on the way I felt like things needed a bit of a refresh and thought a new table runner would be just the thing.

I spotted this adorable Robert Kaufman print in my stash and thought obviously a green print should be used for an Irish chain quilt.  And speaking of being green, this was made 100% from stash.  Table runners are a great way to use up those long strips of leftover batting.  I sized this specifically to match one that I already had.

The blocks were strip pieced and went together so quickly!

I kept the quilting simple and just used painter's tape to quilt giant Xs thru the squares.

A couple of episodes of The Flight Attendant and my binding was done and it was ready for Prime Time.

If only I could make the warm weather arrive as easily: )  Hope springs eternal!

Quilt Stats:

Finished table runner is 26" x 60".
Pattern: Traditional Irish Chain.
Fabrics: Robert Kaufman, MMCC White, Garden Gingham by Jane Sassaman for Free Spirit.
Batting: Quilter's Dream Cotton.
Thread: 50 wt. Aurifil in  Shining Green (5017).
